Valera Iskhakov was born in Tashkent City, Uzbekistan in 1950. Iskhakov's compositions explore traditional subject matter including the human form and still life. His formal education includes a masters of fine art from the Benkov art college in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In addition to painting, Iskhakov also creates bronze sculpture. His work has been shown nationally and internationally in NewYork, Los Angeles, Greece, Switzerland and Russia and is included in the collection of the Jane Vorhees-Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University.
